💬 You have to chase rejection

Hey friends,

I recently had a chat with Lanie Gannon, a lifelong artist whose work has never stopped evolving, about making a life as an artist.

I was really struck by her advice for young artists:

You have to chase rejection. Rejection has to be so much a part of your life that you're used to it. Without rejection, you're never going to get any kind of acceptance.

You have to put yourself out there, whether it’s applying to residencies or other opportunities, you won’t hear “yes” without risking a “no.”
